Meet Genevieve
Hi there! I’m a lifelong Alaskan, political aide, community advocate, and proud daughter of Filipino immigrants who bought their first home in Airport Heights. My family operated assisted living homes in the neighborhood for almost two decades. I grew up in my family’s small business, graduated from Bettye Davis East High School and UAA, and am now a homeowner in Mountain View. As a teenager, I helped my family navigate their assisted living home business and discovered a lifelong passion: bridging policy and people. I have nearly a decade of political experience: staffing elected officials in the Anchorage Assembly and Alaska Legislature, working on health policy, organizing underrepresented voices in our democracy, and leading the Alaska Young Democrats.

Why I’m running
I am running for re-election because House District 19 deserves representation AND results. As a freshman legislator, I passed three bipartisan pieces of legislation that improve SNAP, allow family caregivers to be paid by Medicaid, and enshrine Filipino American History Month in state law. From cleaning up trash dumps, maintaining a strong presence at community events, or pushing for better snow plowing – I’ve stayed connected to the needs of our community.
I know there’s a bright future here with the right leadership. I’m running to continue serving the area that raised me, and I’ll continue fighting to build a future Alaskans want to live in.
